Williamson's Abyss works very well
This is surely a Cheap & Good Range!

Can you suggest if specific weight works wonder or it is good all across it's range of weights?

"Butterfly" is just the name of a jig by Shimano Very nice action and I've caught plenty fish with them. They aren't exactly cheap but it wouldn't hurt to have a piece or two in your jig bag

Re: Cheap & effective jig

Newbie here.. got a couple of questions regarding jigs...

as long as there is fish there, any jig will do rite? (comments? )
Or jigs are regional... ie some jigs work in certain regions.. (given under the same environment and lighting and depth)...

Comments?

Re: Cheap & effective jig

Its hard to say which jig works for what species RB. Take for example Doggies. Most of the folks recommend short stubby jigs like the Hooker but I've caught them on both Hooker 1s & really long Haoli jigs. The big mama Dogtooth Tuna that Mogi-San caught on Nomad was hooked on a long Smith Nagamasa. He was jigging pretty darn slow too if I may add So I guess the most important factor that contributes to success when jigging would be whether the fishes are in a mood to feed.

River 2 Sea jigs are pretty go for its price. Prefer the knife jigs but i've got a couple of River 2 Sea spike jigs, similar to Japanese skill jigs, yet to try it so can't really tell if I'll like using them.
