Hi fellas,

The rod in picture actually broke into 6 pieces I think. One piece went MIA For those who are still in the dark, the rod is from a high-end Japanese manufacturer but not Sevenseas

Personally, I have had a 2 pc jig rod break into 3 pieces, inspection of the broken bits revealed some "iffy" packing of carbon layers too

Tight lines

Is it just my red weary eyes, or do the guide feet all look a bit bent?.... I mean that it looks like they aren't that well seated on the blank and the foot that is yanked out on the stripper guide looks like it was only bound minimally and its foot is definitely bent.

Another weird thing to me is that all all the guides, the stripper guide is the guide with the least pressure on it when a fish is on, so how come it yanked out?.... I reckon that when the blank broke, all the anglers had left was the handle and stripper guide and pressure of that yanked the foot out.

Ahh well, never mind, this stuff happens... I got 3 broken rods smiling at me waiting to be made into gaffs or part of the line spooler, I am building.

This is my guess....

the rod was just broke into 2 pcs at first, then with full of madness, anger and emotion 'coz loosing the best fish of his lifetime, the angler slammed the remaining rod in his hand into pieces !!! Hua...ha...hah...! (hei, where's the icon for ?)

rgds,
Lod.

Cool

Lod ,

You sounded like you know of such a person who wud react like what you've described ?

May be the guy just want to save the guides and pack it in small parcel to send it back to the manufacturer for warranty claim , some of the broken pieces near the guides look like they have stright cuts and I suspect a
hacksaw job was done on the rod .
