Your Comments,Pls????

Hi guys
I am stuck in between these two reels
Accurate Boss 665N(Low Gear)
Shimano Ocea Jigger 4000P

Has anyone tried these reels before?
Wat are pros and cons?
How is their performance compared???
I can only find info on the Accurate 665N but not the Jigger......
I am intending to load the reel with either 65lbs or 80lbs for jigging and bottom fishing......
I wish I could afford to get both reels but I can only get one.........

Thanks in advance for the advise
Cheers
Jason

This might be a complicated one buddy :P There are die hard Accurate fans and there's die hard Shimano fans... To be diplomatic, I'd say go for the Boss if you like Lever drag reels and the Jigger if you're more comfy with a star drag.

For value, I would lean towards the Boss (Both reels about the same price) because it's got twin drags/lever drag/excellent aftersales here in SG.

For function, the Ocea Jigger was purpose built for jigging so it may be a little more comfy to some. Bear in mind though, aftersales might be a nightmare...

 Personally if I had to choose between the two, I'd just buy both and save myself the headache

Hi Jason,

IMHO, go for the 870N & the aftermarket handle. Not only will you get a leverdrag twin drag reel with full CNC parts, as Mikey said, you will get great aftersales service. As good as the Jigger maybe, I seriously doubt it can outlast an Accurate with serious heavy duty use. IMHO, it is way overpriced for what goes into it. Opinions differs of course.

Best regards,
Makaira

Aiyah..bro go for the 665N (low speed) since you already know it's capabalities. It'a a more versatile reel compare to the jigger. Can also do trolling with it.

Cheers!

Hi Jason,

Don't confuse yourself then ... just go for the 665N or the 665H. The Blue Heaven looks fantastic aesthetically, but it is at least 50% more than an Accurate, but dishies out less drag if I remember correctly. BTW, AO has some black colour Accurate Boss in stock now

Best regards,
Makaira

Hi Makaira
I did saw the black Accurate ,they sure look nice but a bit on the expensive side......
From wat I know ,Blue Heaven is the only reel that the samson have yet to destroy.......
Izzt true???
The price has rised recently as there is a demand in Australia for it...
From $800 plus to now $1000 plus now....
They have done some modfiy on the drag.....
Blue Heaven is really like a heaven to me ,cannot even reach!!!!
So I think I juz go for the Accurate and Jigger.....

Cheers

the failure on accurate according to its user and that of installer (lets leave the name out) is due to installation fault. basically there are so many reels that hasn't been 'destory' by the samson there. also it all depends on whose boat you are on, some boatman wouldn't insist that you use 15kg drag. (i'm totally agreeable to using higher drag to ensure more survial rate upon release dun get me wrong) so you can probably just use 10 - 12kg drag when fishing on their boat and IMHO, most reels would be able to hold much better at such drag setting.

Dude... are you aware that those ALL-BLACKS are limited to one per model? (At least for the time being) IMHO Paying an extra $120 for an EXCLUSIVE/collectors item is well worth the $

You're better off buying a new reel and requesting for it to be custom anodised. Sending your reel two way(SG->USA->SG) will cost a bomb.

Hi Jason,

Samsons destroyed the blue heaven. Quite certain that after heavy use one blue heaven on board Shikari's boat had to be taken apart for inspection. Was advised not to buy one just yet by Mr Poh. Perhaps he has got the bugs fixed now. Tried jigging with the blue heaven, very nice n comfy ergonomics. Drags on the blue heaven can be increased to max 20kg, officially rated at 15kg max i think.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Jason,

That's interesting news...price kinda steep but if it works well (light + strong + powerful) haha! Then worth considering

It was $900+ most recently b4 the upgrades i think.

Do you know what they did to the gears? Anything done to the shaft?

cheers

mark
