Xzoga braided line

Just wanna know if anyone out there tried the XZOGA braided line? Was out fishing with new friends and was running in my new OJ4000P filled up with XZOGA PE8 line which claimed breakage point at 37.6kg. Much to my dissapointment, the line keep on snapping even at low drag. After the trip i manage to try it with the weight springs and much to my dismay after 15kg of drag, the line snap. Ouch! Anyone can explain? Braids are brand new for your information

Re: Xzoga braided line

I've had trouble with lines snapping way under its recommended rating too. I think that's probably why I like FG/Mid knots so much. If you're line is faulty, they'll definitely snap when you're trying to tighten up the knot. Try returning the line to the place you bought the line from and changing it to some other proven lines on the market. That should save you from losing good fish... not to mention costly lures!

Re: Xzoga braided line

Stickbom,
Wish i could return the line back to the place where i bought it from but as i can recall, the receipt says 'Goods sold are not refundable!' Guess the PE8 of xzoga's braid are more like PE3 or less to me now.. Wish i had bought the Berkley whiplash instead!

Felix dude,

Try asking them what can be done and do the line test in front of the shop manager/owner.... I think there is a big difference between returning a defective product and saying that goods sold are not refundable...

I'm sure that if the line breaks at 15kg, you can claim it back. Just as a matter of interest, what kind of knots/connections did you use to hook up the line to the scale.... that can have a bearing on how the line breaks.

Re: Xzoga braided line

DFM: We actually tied the braided line directly to the spring scale and the breakage wasnt at the tip of the scale. I pulled the line as far as more then 1 metre beyond the scale and it broke in between that length. yea, i will ask the shop about it. Thanks for the advice dude. cheers
