Yo bro,

Small reel with limited line capacity so I guess you'll be jigging in shallower areas with lighter jigs. May be better to look at Japanese "Hiramasa" style rods for this reel instead of the JM. Can try some HOTs models I guess, pretty light with the Ti guides, some nice light sevenseas models and ripplefisher available too.

JM's are very good for deep water & strong currents, where long + heavy jigs are necessary. The parabolic action of the JM 400g/500g shines in these situations where it will be easy to use and will also impart good action to these long heavy jigs.

On the other hand, for short jigs like the hookers, a rod with medium-slow or even medium-fast action may work better at imparting the desired action. Many sevenseas blanks are built with fast action eg. Amberjack series.

Opinions differ of course.

Tight lines

PS. Sent u an sms

Yo bro,

Some HOTS Fake Lez rods here:

http://www.gaar.co.jp/hots/hots.htm#top

There are newer models, can try AO.

BTW, I just watched a re-run of the Fisherman video and Suzuki was using a Stella 6000 PG paired with a Spinoza 5123, looked like a very well matched combo but the Spinoza costs a bomb man...

I guess it will be a 200g model to pair with 6000pg. BTW, the rod you mentioned is having what specification?

Hot's rod price is not cheap too... Did a cal 51,450 JPY=692 SGD. Does Spore tag the same price? Must visit AO to see this masterpiece...
