Re: Review on Daiwa Certate

tonight cant seem to sleep and found this website....
don't mind if new kaki like me to post some of personal preference over daiwa (certate) reels.

basically at that kind of price daiwa is offering and with that reel performance, this reel is strongly recommended. Using a 4000 now. Thinking of getting the 3500 hd as well after using certate 4000. Comparing with stella, a daiwa supporter will definitely go for certate.
Plz correct me if i'm wrong.

firstly, i don't need a PG system as what stella is offering for light jigging/casting/ surface fishing. PG make a big diff in term of big game
Certate look more robust compared to stella.Almost maintanence free. Once a friend feedback about stella internal gear. Not 100% one can put back stella into original condition once you open up. (eg: Gear not as smooth.. etc) No such prob for certate.
in term of drag and gear, certate performance is definitely consistent. So far, yet to fail me. Friend of mine landed 25 kg sail fish with 3500 hd. What more i expect. Of course you cant land 50 kg GT. Play within the limit.
Superb corrosion resistant. Minimum care needed. Having both stella and certate, both yet to give me any prob as frequent after fishing care like washing and lubricant is done. But some still feed back about shimano anti corrosion issue even stella.
certate is cheaper. Y buy something more expensive.
Lastly, stella have smoother drag. But that's what i like about daiwa. Not as smooth but give better feel and sound when the reel spin... Sound like selling icecream.. esp when tenggiri, sail fish or tuna take my bait.

Re: Review on Daiwa Certate

oh yeah..
need to add something b4 i go to ZZzz
haha..
it's about water proofing in certate. Many claim that certate drag is not 100% water proof. Erm...
"Need other expert to input about this issue..
So far, there's no difference between stella and certate with regard to this prob. Not as if i'm going to dip certate or stella into saltwater, but putting both reel outside boat during few days trip, certate doesn't seem to have any prob at all during fishing or rain.
Instead, stella have more prob under extreme condition. Although drag is water proof drag system, but other external part seem to face serious corrosion prob if no proper care is given..

good luck..

Strangely, several shop guys have told me that the certate is harder to reassemble

Shimano stella over certate for me...certate internals quite ordinary, a better comparison would be the saltiga game vs stella for overall performance, construction and gearing
