Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Penn Torque 100 striped marlin catch All, Just got back from Baja's East Cape region, about 2 hours north of Cabo San Lucas. Managed to catch a 110-pound striped marlin on my little TRQ100 reel. Line system was 200 yards of 40 pound braid plus 125 yards of 20 pound Big Game Hi-test mono. Fight time under 40 minutes, fish successfully released. Also used a another TRQ100 for jigging filled with 325 yards of straight 50-pound braid. Caught 2 amberjack of 25 pounds, 6 yellowfin tuna to 30 pounds, 10 skipjack tuna to 20 pounds, 4 pargo [snapper] to 15 pounds and 2 odd-looking popeye catalufa of about 2 pounds. The reel performed perfectly in all cases. Disclaimer-affiliated |
