New reel in town..

Guys,

There is another new reel already at our local market for budget conscious anglers. Simple in design and materials used found to be very much tougher than the one used on Freams 4500J.

Aluminum body, machine cut handle, pinion and drive gears are made of brass, stainless steel stopper assy.

Brand: Banax (Made in Korea)
Model: GT 4000 & GT 5000
Price: Below SGD 120.

Cheers

Don't think so bro. Just arrived in town about 2 days ago. I'm going try it on the mekongs first, and if it survives, will bring it to Takabakang.

Cheers

Bro,

I think you can easily load more of 50lbs Power Pro into this reel.

I'm planning to change the drag material to HT-100 and replace the bushing on the line roller to ball bearings. Aiyah...still a long way to go to my BSL trip but will update you in due course.

Cheers

Dros,

Looks like a Saltiga clone body with XHD BG-90 internals....

How smooth is it?.... seems pretty simple so as long as tolerances are good it should be smooth....

What is the original drag material?.. Felt?.

Good luck at BSL dude.

Spot on Saimee. No space age design internally. It is just like the good old Daiwa BG series.

Drags are ok...but you know lah, because of my kiasuism, better get it change before the big one gets away..hehehe.

I have not seen the drag material used. Will do it tonite.

Hmmmm.....wonder if it will survive Tinggi's sharks?

Cheers
