New Popping rods spotted @ Beach Road

Hi folks,

if you're looking for some budget popping rods.. check them out at Chop Hock Hin, beach road.

The range is pretty impressive in terms of specs and length, and on 1st account, seems to be light and pretty well balanced.

The guides are all Fuji SIC.. comes with aluminium gimble as well.

But as the saying goes... "one cent money, one cent goods"...

My personal feel is, for that price.. cant complain, the build quality is not that fantastic can tell from the gimble and its cover and also the EVA grip.. honestly, becuase its so new in the market, many will rather spend the extra 50 odd bucks to get a Kaibutsu, which although same brand of guides, gives the owner a better perspective on build quality.

Whoops! Forgot to mention that the rod brand is Shakespeare.

Having said all that... I bought a budget sharespeare TideWater jigging rod.. and its performance is higher than I expected for the price that I paid for it. So..

as the cantonese would say "leh lum leh lum lor!"..

Thank you for the information.

Used to own one TideWater jigging rod too the golden colour ring guides surely very catchy angler's eyes but the only down side of this rod is the golden colour ring guides tend to come off eventually one of my friend also encountered this problem recently but overall no complaint about this rod.

Hi bro,
you mean the guides burst off or the golden color ran off?
If the guides came off, this is very serious and dangerous as well! Should bring back to Hock Hin to change and complain!

It is the golden colour coated ring guides came off but we never launched the complain because we understand the statement "you pay peanut you get peanut" so for a rod cost less than $180 and lasted for almost 3 years before this problem surfaced what to complain.
