here some info.....alot more refined than the old ss. Internally similar to the slammer. Still uses some old parts but atleast not every moving parts are supported by bearings.

Thanks Hon-su,
Read that before. Was actually looking for opinions from somenone who's used it for jigging before. Saw a pic with Stickbom holding the reel. Do you know how much more it costs over the old reels?

Over here in Australia, its not much more than the old one. Probably about $20-30 more. I wouldnt consider this reel for jigging. Its still not as strong as the old one. The a/r bearing is nothing special and the worst part is the connection of the shaft to the oscillating drive.........its not bolted in......its screwed on......so any flex or if the spool is at the top of the oscillation, alot of pressure is put on that little screw.

So better consider other reels instead. What about the Banax GT series reel??? Has anyone used one yet? Also consider the Shimano Spheros as well.

Hi Mark, I like my old Spinfisher very much. Nothing fancy but it's tough, good cranking power, holds plenty of line and fits my budget

I've toyed with the new SSMs before and the reel feels very fragile... I may be wrong though because I've never fished it before. Just a first impression thingie
