The Phantom series have been around for the longest time man... every year got differrent Phantom range... Nicest one so far must be the one with yellow EVA grips

Eh Surf Guru :P , the one Stormy Wong has is a Pacific Phantom BG... he's probably jigging with it in Sarawak as I'm typing this reply He's pairing the rod with my Pro Gear CS500.

Is it the latest model I wouldn't bother buying a Phantom cos it's one of the lower end models... Once upon a time I did consider buying the Phantom for my popping needs but my friends in Japan told me not to The one I was eyeing could handle lures slightly over 100g and 30lb lines if I'm not mistaken. My friends told me that's a heavy shore luring rod and far too light for popping. Hey if you're looking for a popping stick why not grab Jason's Zenaq It's a really good rod man

If you're going to use the rod for jigging then be careful if the blank is too fast... back breaking experience man
