Loomis & Franklin

Brought 3 friends to 2000Tackle sometime last week as they were looking for rods/reels. They bought 3 L&F spin rods which looked pretty decent for about S$60. Its grip area is fashioned like the Daiwa Saltiga jig/pop rods and the butt section has a woven graphite finish. Had a feel of the rod when my friends snagged up at the beach and I'm totally convinced these are strong enough for light popping at Rompin! Can't recall if they were 7 or 8 footers but I'll get you guys the exact model/specs soon!

Mike,

They are indeed good value for money. Slow action rods, will bend all the way to the foregrip but not easy to break. Good idea to test them out in Rompin.

Mark,

Not sure but i guess it's the trend nowadays. Anglers like to try out different styles. I have use 14ft telescopic surf rod that bend into a 'C' shape on a 20kg plus ray. Not weird but fun actually.
