Looking for rod holders

I'm pretty much into chilling out at kelongs these days but can't really sit back and relax unless I can safely position my rod on a holder while waiting for a bite. There are some make-shift PVC pipes but they look kind of flimsy to me. Anyone come across a cheap and reliable clamp on/portable rod holder at our local tackle shops? If I can't find one here I'll have to get one from Cabelas Think the next item to look out for would be a nice folding beach chair with drink holders

Re: Looking for rod holders

A couple of releasable/reusable cable ties and short pipe weld-tag to an angle bar should suffice. If DIY is possible, the attached design may be useful for both horizontal and vertical mount onto kelong pole.

Hey Richard thanks for the tip off!! Thing is, I have no connections to machinists/welders so its gonna be tough to get that made at low cost. Might be better off getting one online. Still, this diagram of yours will come in reeeeeeeally handle for those who can do it themselves. Hey lets go fishing again sometime soon

Mikey,

A 12" long PVC pipe and a musking tape....the old traditional way. Often seen at Malaysia kelongs.
