Lock N Lock HPL 891

Hi People,

In my recent hunt for items that are suitable for local boat fishing, kelong stays etc, I have found a pretty decent water-proof tackle box that's big enough to hold about 2 small reels, some leader coils and probably everything else you'll need for a day or two out at sea. Not sure if its cheaper elsewhere but I got my Lock & Lock HPL 891 @ $22.90 from Seiyu at Bugis Junction this afternoon. This tough little box will keep your digital camera/mobile phone/wallet nice & dry no matter how heavy that sudden tropical down-pour gets

Re: Lock N Lock HPL 891

Mikey,

I been using lock & lock for a long time.... Remember those boxes we used on the boat that went under the console bench... All L&L boxes....

The smaller ones are also great for keeping hooks, swivels etc etc all in their own waterproof containers... The bigger ones are great for an all round put everything in box, handphones, sun glasses, cameras, ciggies, you name it, keep it dry in there.

If you put digital cameras and phones in the L&L boxes, I have found that its best to line the box with a soft rubber lining... The easily available non-slip mats that are sold pretty much everywhere are a great option, just cut to size to fit the bottom of the box and if you want to go further, secure cut out sections of the mat to the side of the box using thin double sided tape. This will stop stuff sliding around inside the box and aslso help prevent scratches to the big viewing screens on your expensive digital camera and the lenses of your sunglasses...

I'll take some pics later and post them up.

Saimee

Felix dude,

You can get them from Hua Ho Mall, they got a very good range, everything from the multicompartment big ones with trays in them to the smallest square ones that are just right for small terminal tackle.

They also have long rectangular ones that will fit most fishing pliers and I use these to put a pair of vice grips, my jinkai crimp pliers and mini bolt cutters.

Gimme a call dude.

Regards,

Saimee

Re: Lock N Lock HPL 891

Thanks Saimee dude. Have got 2 sets of the boxes for my hooks. Now i dont have to worry about gettin my hooks rusty anymore. They certainly have lots of ranges in sizes and the prices are reasonably cheap too

Re: Lock N Lock HPL 891

Finally got round to some pics....

Boy, I didn't realise how many L&L boxes I actually use....

You can also use them to carry food... 100% non spill as long as you get the ones with seals.

I also carry spare dry clothes (can fit 4 rolled T-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts and a little bit more), leader rolls, Tools... list is endless and up to the user.

Also took a pic of the small Underwater Kinetics box I use to carry my handheld marine VHF and my L&L box with a digicam in it....

For hooks etc though, I tend to use the Plano Sealed Waterproof tackle trays now as they allow me to take out a whole prepacked selection of small terminals when I need them and are still pretty waterproof.

Hope it gives a few ideas...

Saimee
