Mark, Would recommend u a carpenter. Model Onehundred series. Its got models for spinning and baitcast rating of max pe8 and pe10. The PE10 is capable of holding lures or jig up to 1200gm.

OIC.. thanks, had a friend whom felt that it seems pretty *reads too* soft when 700g jigs was pair with it.. its like the rod is under too much stress and you can hardly lift the rod to make the tip recoil when jigging at a depth of 120-150m..

have you used with similar weight jig before on it? maybe you would like to share your feel with it while using it? haven't tried it out yet hence hopping that anyone with experince with it can drop a line?

Re: Jig stick for 700g jigs

I have used the Carp OH56M for jigging 500g jigs in over 100m water. I did not face any problem but the current was not strong then.

How

Mark, which model was your friend referring to? I am using the OHX-52b and have used a jig only till 500gm. Doesnt seem soft to me cos sometimes when i do bottom on it, i used weights which are sumtimes 700 to 800 gm and i dont see it bending often to it. Your friend could be using the PE8's, please do try the OHX-52B. Lots of buyers tryin to buy em off me but as i like it alot, its not for sale.

Re: Jig stick for 700g jigs

thanks again guys.. well it might be his personal preference towards how the rod behaves under stress but thats his point of view also i couldn't quite remember which model he is refering to but he probably owns both of them (spinning model).. maybe i should just buy one to try it out.. but before i do is there any other rods that might fit the bill?

Cheers
Mark
