Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Effect of rod stiffness and jig mass on natural frequencies of rod Just to illustrate the phenomenon that rod stiffness and jig mass has an effect on the natural frequencies of rod. Just like a marathon runner, to conserve energy, of course oscillation of a jigging rod is preferred at its natural frequency. That is, with minimum force input and maximum output displacement at rod tip. The rod natural frequencies, in case are measured at 689 and 1444 rpm with 220gm jig mass. Of course the natural frequencies decrease with an increase in jig mass, and are consistent with basic physics. |
