Re: Certate V/s Stella

Stella is smoother than Certate , I think everybody knows that and even Daiwa fans have conceded to aknowledging it as undisputed fact . In reality , most Shimano reels are smoother than those of Daiwa , apple to apple comparison .

Daiwa is rougher and hence feel sturdier ? I beg to differ , the roughness indicates that not everything is running smoothly as per required tolerance , a few years ago in USA anglers in the west coast were obsessed by " blue printing " their reel ( mostly American made or made for American market ) and they do this to obtain a smoother operation than what they get from stock out of the box reels .

Now Shimano has responded and make their reels to be smooth ( out of the box ) and not many are doing " blue printing " anymore albeit some still do to
their older reels described above . Daiwa came up with a few smooth reels
too but only after Shimano has done it for a few years , only playing catch up .

Example of this , many : Ocea Jigger/Trinidad/Torium to Saltiga/Saltist in conventional jigging , TLDII to SLDII , Stella to Saltiga , etc. and now Daiwa
has yet to come up with their answer to Torsa , Tyrnos n DC technology .

What Daiwa has come out is with COLOR , the same reel with exotic colours that cost 50% more and brand it as "IZE , ITO etc, but in reality , these reels are only cosmetically different than the stock version .

I haven't seen Daiwa comes with INNOVATION yet these ladt few years .

My caldia kix had CRBB

Re: Certate V/s Stella

Thanks for all explanations lads,

I seriously need to look for a Stella FA if I can't find it then I'll go for the SR since I've got no choice.

Has anyone heard of the Stella Ship?

Re: Certate V/s Stella

Hi,

You will never regret getting the stella over the certate. I have sold my certate and exist and now have stella SR in 1000, 2500 and 4000 sizes. The stellas are just beautifu to use.

How
