3500 and 4000 series have the made in Japan tag. Anything below 3500 is made in Thailand. Did not notice any difference between those two.

cheers!

Can can Alan, I go engrave "MADE IN JAPAN" on a smaller Kix and sell you at Certate price :P

Basically all Kix below 3500 size are made in Thailand (even those sold in Japan also made in Thailand)

One thing weird about the Kix is that spool adjustment washers are not supplied with it... strange I've checked with a few shops and have confirmed this. You might be thinking why I bothered to do this... well I was a brief Kix owner...

Guys, me proud owner of a $70 Daiwa Regal Xi now Loaded the spools with 4lb Pline FluoroClear and will be using it for Squid fishing this weekend

The Kix was a big mistake man... shouldn't have touched it :P My advice for those who really want to experience the REAL FOUR drivetrain, go for the Certate. The Kix vibrates just about as much any other spinner on the market. Oh by the way this is simething personal... might be a faulty Kix I bought so congratulations if your Kix feels like a million bucks.

Most wet markets and almost all NTUC have squid :P

Just kidding Octo. A few of us going to Hot Boys Kelong tomorrow... will try for squid there.

The image below shows the crucial item missing from Kix. AND THAT PUZZLES THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME
