Gosh... never knew those Cape Fear rods were so darn strong!! And some of those sticks being used were not full roller stand up sticks either!

heavy game rods doesnt need to be fully rollered. The rollers are used on fast running fish where the line must be kept as smooth and as un hindered as possible, thus also reduces heat built up in the guides. These guys are crazy, its either go hard or go home. 200lb shock leader to 400lb main leader !!! thats NUTS!!!!

Hey Mak, I really think the new Cape Fear Hex-Tex sticks might be tougher than the old hex shaped "Mcginns" or something like that... remember we used to talk about Cape Fear over IRC ages ago? Think I might get one and try if there's a good deal for it.
