Apparently all freshwater eels in the world spawn at just two tiny areas in the Ocean...a seamount in the Northen Marianas and an area in Bermuda

Re: Unagi

Not too sure on the exact species of freshwater eels available or whether the ones I have seen are of the same species, but when I was a kid I used to catch plenty of them in a local drain.

They were seasonal and only appeared at certain times. Each was about 2-5cm, transparent and often balled up together. Those i kept ate voraciously and grew up pretty fast; they grew up to be those local eels that you commonly find at hebal soup restaurants.

I don't think they are of the same species but it will be really interesting and would be really amazing if those fellows did manage to find their way to our little red dot!!...
