Imho, these 2 videos clearly demonstrates the dangers of fishing with long rods & heavy drags. Those anglers could have easily gone over for a dip!!! It also shows what advantage the fish has over the angler when using long sticks ... so be real careful out there guys. Opinions differ of course.

That scene showing an angler dangling on the railing reeeeeeeally bring back memories 8' Broomstick popping stick + PE10 + 200lb leader + rocking boat can be pretty risky business! This I can fully relate to
