tackle shop in Osaka

Hi

I was there during the Chinese New Year for 2days.
You can visit the following website

http://www.taikobo.net
http://www.tackleberry.co.jp

I went into Iban and saw alot of good stuff. Most of them are really high end. Its at the Osaka Umeda station. A bit ex for me.

but the one I love is tackle berry. It located next to the Tokyu Inn. 100m away. It specialise in new and used tackles. I had a blast in there.

The short salesman was very helpful and friendly.

I bought a used Daiwa Rod for toman fishing. Its a Grandwave S. Not found in Singapore yet. My tour guide said that the Japanese will keep the latest products for the domestic customer first and export the outdated ones overseas.
Saw a Gloomis IMX 6ft rod going for US$100.

Happy hunting.

Ban

PS. Hi Ban, I have edited the pic to 640x480 for easier viewing - Edy

hotel accommodation

Hi MarkR

I would suggest your check with your travel agent. I went on a tour package with Hong Thai Travel to Hokaido. We actually wanted to stay in Tokyo for 2days but the extension plan could only accommodate for an extension stay in Osaka only. So its a blessing in disguise.

If you don't have anybody to turn to then go to Tokyu Inn Osaka. Go to http://www.tokyuhotels.co.jp. It was the cheapest my agent could find. Its around US$100/day for a double bed.
Just behind the hotel is the redlight & shopping district. Come out of the hotel turn left walk to the next traffic light cross the street. Tackle Berry is there. Iban is about 20mins walk from Hotel if you can find your way around else just ask around. I found Iban by going to a bookshop, look out for a guy reading fishing magazine. Ask him he will know.

I had problem communicating with the older guys. Solution, ask the guy next to him who knows English to translate.

You can get a map of Umeda area at the subway station to get your way around. You are advised to bring a compass. Cos when you are in the subway, no sun to tell you where is east or west or North or South. I got lost in there.

Good luck.
