some comments pls

hi guys, nid some comments here. how effective is those small luminous little sotong in terms of bottom fishing. given a depth more than 20 meters, Though it is luminous, does it aid in getting fishes attention.

Couple of friends like to attach these "little green luminous sotong" onto their hooks. seriously i really wonder does it helps.. since brand like yozuri wih a pack of around 7..costs some 5 bucks or more - which claim can "shine" for few hours..

any brands to recommend, if it does helps..

Re: some comments pls

Hi Shineshy,

Personally i have no luck when using it for bottom fishing. If i were to do bottom fishing, i will keep it clean and neat so the bait presentation is there.

This squid grub might be useful to jig for big eye jack but i never caught anything with it.

Cheers,
Edy

Re: some comments pls

I tried this in my recent trip, I attached a pink and a green one, both lumo, to each of the assist hook, and notice that for a longer jig, I think fishes are hitting on these sotong thingy straight rather than the jig (no noticeable teeth mark), and scanning the surrounding shows that there are v small size sotong swimming around. So I guess it actually works

Couldnt remember the brand, but I think a pack of 5 cost around 2 plus. I was using those bigger size one that are about 3 inches long.

Hope this help...

Hahaha... the premium skirts costs quite a lot! Just get those by Surecatch will do. There are a handful of other cheap brands that can you can find at Hong Guan/ Siow Chiang/ Changi Pro. Yamashita/Yo-Zuri are "premium" stuff for the perfectionists

actually, from wat i see, those cheaper one..somehow the luminous effect doesnt last/ or not lumnious at all. unless mayb using it for daytime, then with those longer skirts, it might attract fishes due o the the skirts "wave- like" effect by the current..

Brands like yamashita/yoZuri though have quite a "lighting" effect. but really i wonder..deep in the deep dark water..the "glow" is really there or not..

..mayb pour some "scent" on it might help to attract fishes :P
