My Mood: Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() | Ringed Owner Mutu Lights Don't wanna hijack Mak's Catch Report. I used to be crazy about circle hooks, so much so that I got some 5/0 mutu light specially ringed for me from by the chap who runs ringedhooks.com Pics below are of a ringed owner Mutu light 5/0 and a regular Mutu light 6/0. Not sure if Owner has begun to sell ringed Mutu lights these days. Still feel the best connection is a trilene knot on a ringed circle hook. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Hi MarkR, Ringed Mutu lights ... now that is hardcore When we first started using circles way back then, we also used the rapala knot or some form of loop knot with great success for sails & other fishes. After a while, we simply got lazy The problem with these new aged circles is that imho, they are not true circles; and the high incidence of gut hooking is because the tip is needle sharp & it clings on to anything it catches in the fish's mouth or gullet resulting in gut hook.Best regards, Makaira |
