A Questions for the guru's in rod buildings.

I have got my self a Baja Boomer blank and its total length is at 5 1/2'. I would like to cutaway 1 1/2' feet from the bottom of the blank and make to make it 4 feet. The reason being is to have a shotter blank for a stand up, set up. The question is how significantly does this alters the back-bone or the strong back of the blank??

1.5 ft off a 5'6" can be pretty drastic.

shorter, give more leverage, but 4ft may be too short to clear outboat motor, or manuvour when fish dive below the boat.

i wun worry abt the blank losing strength.

the baja boomer is built for superman. i dun tink any human being can max the rod when fishing (a while can. but for extended period, i dun tink so).
