Rep Power: 4 ![]() | arowana, Many big fishes have been landed with smaller single speed reels like the Accurates, Shimanos or Daiwas. Fishing with 65-85lbs braided lines are consider heavy and can anytime catch 'big' fish that would give the angler severe back problems. Like Makaira mentioned, it's feels less stressing to reel up a 1kg sinker using a good single speed reel than a 2 speed reel. Unless you intend to catch big buggers of more than 200kgs, i suggest you re-consider and get yourself an Accurate, Jigger, Kaikon or Daiwa Saltiga. Cheers! physlo |

| Moderator | Arowana dude, Let me suggest a great back up rig for your purposes.... Its called a 400lb Handline.... Seriously, with a suitably long 200-400lb handline, a pair of gloves and the comfort of the "I'm gonna tie it to the rig you motherf*!#er" drag system, huge fish have been landed from rigs here.... I mean grouper on the 200kg range have been landed, albeit that the "gaff" used in the end consisted of a tail rope and the derrick crane. Aside from that, the boys have given a bunch of good advice anyway. Don't forget a few sabiki rigs to jig livebait. Regards, Saimee |
