Dunno what happened... anyway here it is again.

Chris/Mak- The Penn is really hardy and considering it's price, I can always buy 5 SS9500 and still it's cheaper than 1 Stella. Pretty darn sure one Stella will not out last 5 Penns

Yes they are. I have quite a number of Penn Internationals & a few Penn spinners in my arsenal as well. But would you, a self-confessed Japanese tackle 'ho, buy five (5) SS9500 instead of one (1) Stella?? The SS9500 is also at least 5 times less stylo-milo than a Stella you know ........ However, if you are really into retro, then the Penn SS beats all hands down!!! Even their newer Slammer series looks very cool to me.

Guys... some of the modifications are purely cosmetic For the Spinfisher, all you need is a change of handle and anti reverse gear upgrade. Seriously if I can sell off all my Stellas at 1K a piece I wouldn't mind having having 4 pieces of stock SS9500 at home. That would be enough to handle all my offshore needs

dun kid yourself lah.. i know you still keep a SS9500 at home...but to compare it with a Stella is really a joke man... the technology that current Stella used it probably light years infront of SS and not forgetting the line laying, the flexing rotor arm, the anti reverse, the drag, the smoothness, the spares, the back up locally...etc!!! its just not the same class man...

having said that, i would still agreed that some are very well mod but i kinda of see some traces of Van Staal in them, so now lets compare a Van Staal with a SS then

cheers

I think the lack of hair protecting the top of his head has resulted in serious UV damage to his brain cells OR ...... he knows something we don't & he is building up his piggybank for some new fancy poison coming out from the Land of the Rising Sun.

No argument that the Penn SS can get the job done to a certain extent and at a reasonable price to boot, but to sell the Stellas & replace them with Penn SS ... or even with a Van Staal???? It's like saying ..... ok lah ... enough of driving a Lexus ...... think I will sell it & buy a Geely Chery instead. It's made in China too you know

Not to worry all loyal followers of Stickbom .... I don't think he has gone cuckoo. It's simply once of those phases he is going.
