Rep Power: 0 ![]() | OT : Crocs - Are they safe? Peeps, most of us heartlanders should know by now the hoo haa on these rubber clogs getting stuck on escalators yes? My son suffered horrific injuries to his foot when his green crocs got caught in an escalator about 1.5 weeks ago. Any comments on fellow owners of crocs? I am sure many of us here (including myself) wears them. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Hi Benz, I'm sorry to hear that too... It just remind me a couple weeks ago I saw a cheap Swallow sandal 'crunched' by escalator, it clearly shown by its 'bite mark'..... The victim left it near the escalator. It only left into half, don't know what happen to the victim....... When my son was 5-6 years old, he nearly got an accident by escalator too. His jacket got stuck and pulled by escalator......everyone panicked that's including me ! Luckily the operator quickly stop the escalator manually ! Whoooh !..... rgds, Lod. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Saimee, The left foot got caught at the side of the escalator while we were going down in Bugis Junction. I will try to upload some pics on the mutilated crocs as well as the open fractures the 4 year old kid suffered just for discussion & awareness purposes. Ben |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Shah, the kid's doing fine...thanks... Here are the pics of his foot taken from the surgical table - open fracture dislocation on the second toe as well as the tattered crocs... Pretty disturbing pics but its real...can happen to anyone. Look at it & reflect.. You all please take care...wear those only on the boat! |

| Moderator | Benz, Thank you for the pics, lucky that he didn't lose any toes, it must have been traumatic in the extreme for the poor lad... I can't express how distraught I would feel if that happened to either of my kids, so I really sympathise with you and your boy. I shall take your warning to heart and I guess the kids will be using their crocs on the beach and boat. Could you tell us which part of the crocs got caught first in which part of the escalator, 'cos I am wondering if the same could happen to any form of sandal or slipper worn on escalators... Saimee

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Saimee, The front outer corner of the sandal got caught at the side of the escalator half way down. The sandal probably got nipped at the ventilation holes on the side & pulled in. Hi DS, thanks for your concern. Medical bills have piled to almost $5K. On a lighter side, you can say I blew an entire collection of accurate bosses! Regards Ben |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Benz, Sorry to hear that. Hope the boy is fine. Never mind about not having the equivalent of Boss Accurate series. At least your son still has his foot. Thanks for sharing. Take care Ghani |
