New rod fees for Arapaima fishing in BSR

Just received an email from bad boy Wuttichai about the new charges for Arapaima fishing in BSR...

"...Now the Owner BSR him open for all angler try to catch Arapaima in BSR
20,000 THB./1 rod/ 1day(fishing ticket) but not include fishing guide and now i want to cancel your planning to do for Arapaime in BSR. Because i think this price very high for me..."

20,000 THB/1 rod/1 day nearly 1k SGD man....

Hi all

There should be a miscommunication somewhere, it does not make sense for them to charge more than S$800++ for a rod a day, maybe there's an additional zero??? (i.e. 2000 baht instead of 20,000 baht)

I guess there should be a mistake. Might be 2000Baht for a day's ticket. Was there during Feb this year and per day ticket cost me 1000Baht so with this attraction, the fares might be doubled unless they have located a certain enclosure/pond for the Arapaimas else everyone could be fishing anywhere they like along the bridge. You might wanna call them at Tel : 0-2734-9270, 0-2734-9272 to check it out.

Hi Mark,

that is the correct price. i think it is due to an unfortunate incident where a group of anglers fail to revive the arapaima after catching it and it died the next day due to lack of oxygen that's why the owner charge a high price now. and also arapaima is quite expensive so maybe the owner is trying to recoup back the money he spent on buying them.

if you are keen on Arapaima fishing, shoot a pm to "UNCLE" as he know a fresh water pond located across the crossway. He is a die hard fan of fresh water fishing using tapioca marker. You just need to pay a small fraction of that price for this type of fishing. I did try one time in BSL and across the crossway using live carp and goldfish but have no luck.
