Matsutani-San and SevenSeas

Good Day,

I felt bad today because I learnt that Matsutani-San has decided to move on and leaving SevenSeas on 31st of May 2007.

Will you buy another SevenSeas rod?

Personally I bought SevenSeas rod due to my admiration on his fishing videos!!! (call me a fanboy)

It was posted on the SevenSeas BBS

International BBS

Quote:
To all my valuable customers,

I would like to let you know that, I, Hidekatsu Matsutani,
will be terminating employment with Sevenseas on 31 May 2007.
During my employment of 10 years, I was able to meet many people.
I really enjoyed fishing and drinking with people around the world.
I will surely remember those fun moments!

I have no immediate future plans, but I hope that I will be
able to meet all of you again.

I would like to offer you the same high quality service and products
while I am still here with Sevenseas. Please feel free to contact me.

Thank you
Hidekatsu

Re: Matsutani-San and SevenSeas

it is quite unfortunate that he 's leaving sevenseas. he's been such an icon for many and i'm pretty sure he has loads of fans among the jigging fraternity worldwide.i was impressed by his technique especially in the chuuk video when i first saw it. well i would wish him all the best in his future endeavour and i'm pretty certain it's just a matter of time before another tackle company snap him up as their spokesman. anyway good luck mr matsutani.

Don't understand why they say it is World No.1 brand - when they have never sold one product! Have I missed something?

I wish Matsutani well, hope to meet him again at the rail.

Matsutani not very well-known in Japan...went to the Sansui Shibuya...the sales assistants are all familiar with Fumio Suzuki and Kitamura but not H. Matsutani I think Sevenseas rods have always been more popular with the Gaijin jiggers

Funnily enough, someone told me he is a considered a "nobody" in the world of jigging & popping in Japan. Ironically, he is idolised as a jigging superstar celebrity by many outside of Japan. Go figure huh ....... I guess "one man's meat is another's poison."

The name 'patriot' sounds American... The thickness of the blank looks American....
Wonder how they will price it.... japanese product pricing or in USD ...
