| Administrator | Re: Maldives preparation 2007 Hi Tan, You are correct ... Almost all my stuffs are there except ranggong, hooks, snap swivels and all that. The Saltiga reel does not belong to me. A friend of mine loaned it to me. As for the rods It is difficult to take the picture nicely so i have decided to leave it out Cheers, Edy

I am not really a big fan of trolling so i guess that will works for me. Juan, Bill Fish is definetely CnR JigJigJig, Just got myself 2 more poppers!!! I hope it will be enough. I am going to bring lesser jigs. Arowana, Thank you very much for your kind wishes. I will take some nice pics and share with everyone here when i returned on the 19th. Best Regards, Edy

| Super Moderator | Re: Maldives preparation 2007 Dude! Are you nuts? Most of your poppers look like nuclear warheads!! Lose the heavy poppers and pack some light ones lar!! I can pass you some Yo-Zuri/Strike Pro poppers... just replace them if they get really thrashed... otherwise come back can pass back to me. We're very likely to meet up for dinner tomorrow so sms me before 5pm tomorrow if you want to loan some lighter poppers. Go make a list of stuff that you might need to bring as "backup/spare" (like line/leader/hooks etc) and I can loan the whole lot to you... Last edited by stickbom! : 08-01-2007 at 09:50 PM. |

My Mood: Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: Maldives preparation 2007 No, the chinese wording appear in dvd shows western side of Japan, they pop n troll with stickbait n skirt, marlin landed from 40-90kg. Looks like BC611SHP-GM can pop, troll n jig, 3 in 1....., the other Carpenter dvd teach how to use their popper n popper action. One more thing, i came across the articles from newspaper, season 4 big YellowFin Tuna at Maldives on mid july. Last edited by 12345 : 08-01-2007 at 10:37 PM. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: Maldives preparation 2007 Hi Edy, Bring a pair or 2 pairs of fishing/popping gloves...must not forget this..else you will suffer. IMHO...Poppers of 100 to 130grms should suffice...also depends on your rod. Casting 150grms and above poppers is no joke..you will know what i mean after 10 cast with no strikes. You may also consider bring a medium outfit should you guys decide to do a little bottom fishing at the Tilas(sunken islands/structure) 70 to 80ft depth. Light jigging also produces fish...big eye trevallies, small dogthooth, red bass etc.. Hope it's helpful and have a good trip. BR, Rob |
