Fortunately, the Thai authorities has preserve the area and it's now a marine park, accessible only to those with a license to fish there. You have to pay a permit just to enter these waters. Working with my associates in Thailand, we'll be fishing onboard a luxurious 80+ footer long range fishing vessel with full fish finding equipment (not a commercial vessel) 6 twin share rms in full air-conditioned comfort. I was informed by the capt with 8 years experience in these waters just before the season ended that they landed 2 huge Doggies in the 60kilo mark and lots of Amberjacks in the 20kg - 30kg range through jigging. Not to mentioned tons of Ruby Snappers & other bottom dwellers. Will head up there once the season opens, looking at 10 anglers to make this trip so as to lightened the cost for such a charter, looking at a 6 day trip with 4 days of full fishing........Stephen I Chio U!

Cheers

Definitely not by invitation only. It's not easy to form a group of 6 anglers let alone 10 anglers as I jolly well know that to put a bunch of strangers who can't get along with their bickering & petty skirmishes onboard a 4 days fishing trip would lead to agony & mutiny onboard. Contemplating on forming 2 groups of 5 anglers with the desire to explore & conquer places you've never been before. Fishing is unpredictable! That's why we're so hooked into it.

Anyway, logistically, it's quite a breeze unlike some places in Indonesia where I run charters. I'm looking at any of the 6 days betw. 25-12-05 till 02-01-06. We'll fly into Ranong(Thailand), Thai airlines flies to Ranong from Singapore via Bangkok. Prices for round trip is approximately $340++ subjected to change.

Itinerary is as follows:

Day 1 will consist of flying from Singapore. Upon arrival into Ranong/Thailand at 14:45, check in simple hotel with natural hot springs & air-conditioning. Transportation provided.

Day 2 will officially start our fishing. Depart in the morning, travel 60 nautical miles west to our fishing destination. We'll be fishing South from here.

Day 5 will see us arrive back to the pier by late lunch, check in hotel & rest.

Day 6 will be your departure back to Singapore. You'll reach Singapore at around 22:30.

Prices will be $1150 (base on present Thai exchange rate) per angler inclusive of:

1)Full-Board/Meals
2)Hotel Twin share
3)Internal Transfers (Airpot-Hotel-Airport)
4)Bait/ice
5)Fishing Permit
6)Guide & Crew

Airfare, fishing gear & meals on land not included.

RE: Burma Bank

[quote="StevenHing"][quote="ChrisSeo"]Fortunately, the Thai authorities has preserve the area and itSorry brother Steven, didn't realize about the typo error. It was meant for a certain hardcore, easy going, crazy, mad fishing fanatic who can hang on to 40lb+ of fishing drags, a big smile on his face when getting stripped by unknown 'Big Fish' who is also known as Siao(those who know him). Sounds familiar......Cheers to you!

Solid catches you have there. You no longer affiliated to Asia Anglers(eddy)?
