    Fishing Software

    Guys and Gals,

I have been offered the opportunity to participate in the development of a fishing specific software that will include a Moonphase + Tide Calculator, Catch+Location+Tackle database etc etc.

The developer (heuristic research) would like to get as much input as possible in order to cover as wide a range of angling interests and techniques as he can. I have actualy used the Moonphase and Tide Calculator that was first developed by this guy and its pretty good, allowing me to input coordinates from my GPS to get exact Moonphase information for my spots.

It would be cool to have an all in one software that you can use as a comprehensive fishing diary, tackle inventory and maintenance log.

So far I have given input on the tackle & catch database.... Catch details would include specifics like air and water surface temperature, water conditions, current, custom rod details, reel modifications etc etc........

So lets hear it fishingouting, what would YOU like to see in a software like this?.

    Regards,

    Saimee

    Re: Fishing Software

How about a centralised management system?

Instead of installing it on individual PC, lets install it on a server ... lets say FishingOuting server ...

Each member could share their information and retrieve it wherenever they are ... not restricted to their local PC only.

Web browser will be used to interface with this software.

    Cheers,

    Edy,

Thats a cool idea, community/forum based software, wonder how the licensing would work for that, but its a really cool idea.

    Thanks dude.

    Hi Saimee,

Maybe you could discuss with the developer to develop it web based ... as for the licensing wise ... i guess we have to discuss with him.

    Cheers,

    Re: Fishing Software

    Guys ,

If you buy C-Map NT Max , some information such as high tide low tide , moonphase can be be readily available , this electronic cartography must be used with a chart plotter which can accomodate C Map NT Max card .

As for Catch , Location , Tackles etc. , you need a special software to record all these and
participations from anglers in the region would be crucial .
