Yo Marky, the line cap on that reel hardly qualifies it as a jigging reel. If I'm not mistaken its one of those SUPER HIGH END RoCkFiSh/sEaBaSs reels :P Another "Tournament Force" kind of thing... wonder how long before we see someone using the Exist to "Bai Tee Gong" at PRP

Hey ,

no holes on the stems ! I think Daiwa has finally learned those holes in Saltiga reels are the inherent weakness , afterall . Now , will they stand by their products and replace the broken reels under warranty claim ?

Jon, the Exist reels are real tiny. Don't need holes Well we all know why hardly anyone we know in Japan uses the Saltiga. Honestly I think the Saltiga's drive train is WAY stronger than the Stella but its a sad thing they did a lousy job with the drag/frame. It's weird that Daiwa has not announced a recall for their Saltiga reels after so many failures around the world. The jerky drag on my Z4500 really left a bad impression with Rob the last time we fished together. How's the Carbontex working out so far? Jack Erskine does not seem to check his emails very often. Someone I know emailed him but no response.

The two Saltiga Z4500s never had problem internally but nevertheless they are useless now due to breakage of the stem , the drag must be cleaned often , like every trip so Daiwa has yet to learn what a good drag is all about . Saltiga was never as smooth as Stella when new but it does stay pretty much the same after 3 years , so they just have to do their homeworks to improve on the reel .
