No idea dude. I just find this news interesting in that the US tackle industry seems to be consolidating quite a bit of late. Pure Fishing in itself was another consolidation of various brands in the 90's.

VanStaal, Quantum & Finnor is now part of Zebco, which in turn is owned by a company with business interests as diverse as real estate to BBQ broilers.

I guess in this latest development, there is synergy from the business perspective in that Coleman is a premium brand in outdoor activity products. Coleman in turn is part of an almost USD4bn conglomerate listed in the NYSE with products ranging from playing cards to household appliances.

    It's kind of old news.
It also doesn't tell the whole story, Coleman is just a small slice of the pie.
More timely and still pending is the subsequent purchase by Coleman's parent company, "Jarden Brands" of the entire K2 family of fishing brands, including Penn Shakespeare, Pflueger, All-Star rods, Contender rods, Hodgeman waders, Stearns life vests and X-Tools.
