Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Codfish ? Hi peeps , Just for a start of this topic ,theres many friends and family members of mine somehow or rather mistaken the identity of the black skin white flesh fish they brought as the codfish .And thus maybe if anyone have a friend from alaska or near the north pole and tell them codfish has black skin or what so ever discreptions ,I guess it would be embarrassing in the end when so much details or confident in talking about it turns out to be a fish from the other side of the world .And down the road I suppose it is better to know more and especially the young ones to know the things there are eating or learning as they pick up in life .Hmm ,maybe I'm too particular about such matters or what . Well okay ,actually the "codfish aka xue yu ( in chinese which translate directly means snow fish ) is not a codfish neither are they in the same family . Its the Patagonian toothfish ( Dissostichus eleginoides ) that are actually landing on our tables plates and they are also known as the black gold as many illegal fishing boats are targeting them because of the high cash value they fetch . Heres a simple link below to find out more about them and there are more informations by doing a search on the net with its latin name . Patagonian toothfish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Hope to share this little bit of information . |
