I recently saw the shimano catalogue that came with an Australia fishing mag. It showed the "new" stella but seems like it oni comes in sizes up to 4000 and I can't recall what's the diff between the new stella and the current version.

Since the Australia market are getting their hands on them, I believe they should hit our shores soon. Maybe you can ask Hon-su for the latest news/ reviews. I'm quite curious too.

Cheers.

was wondering if the "New" Stella that you're refering to could actually be the "SR" version, which is probably 05-06 version? had a word with our local Shimano salesperson a couple of months back and was told that work on the latest version of Stella has indeed been ongoing for quite awhile but its still in its development stage and launch date hasn't been set either.

Best Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

I guess you are right I wanted to go back & check the catalogue but cant find it anywhere, must have misplaced it. That must have been the 2005/06 catalogue cos the australia shimano website also does not have anything on the "new" stella.

i remember reading on western aus forum that the aussies were complaining that they never get to have the latest shimano stuff...so i reckon it would not be possible that they can get the new stella first.

some aussie even make a joke saying probably they live so far away that no shipments will arrive to them lol

There'll be no new models at this stage I reckon. For 1000-4000 size the FAs have been updated to FBs which is what you see in the site above. The rest are still FAs. Perhaps they are working on the larger models now??.....
