Latest news from Kuching anglers, a group of them went Bintulu jigging n popping, jigging no kangtow but your mama GT .....exactly 50kg being landed

, the average size GT all above 20kg, what are you waiting 4?

But i don't know the place well leh...

Anyway this year maybe June/July then go back for a while.
Try to fish in Kuching and see how is it.

You got go back to Miri or not? then we try in Bintulu lor.
Just bring the popping gear for GT..

I heard they charter the 50ft fibre glass boat (that Melvin lee/ Jamal posted b4 ....that time a lot of people flame them), they pop all along oil rigs till the last oil rig E-11.

No popping arsenal leh, that day 1 2 squeeze jason but he differ haha.
Kuching bottom fishing ok lah jigging n popping cannot satisfied you leh.
Will check from my friend Bintulu rate.

My that Zenaq rod cannot fit your fishing there....
Too soft liao......U need a PE 10 rod there to land the Mama GT....hehehehehe!!!!
Basically ,U need a rod with Tongka Ali.....

You r wrong, they tie at oil rigs to pop, funny thing was the GT not swim under the rigs instead swim out from rigs, maybe that's the habbit of mama GT prefer 1 by 1 till they heard "piak".

but Mr Sim's boat one kind of small and some oil rig can only be near under the cover of darkness and no lights are to be turn on at all time even when fishing, just imagine a row of guys casting poppers from a 50 footer speed boat without any lights.. if one of the kaki are to mis-cast, you'll be lucky if you dun end up having a big 150g wooden "Bluetooth" or a 40g raider "Bluetooth" dangling on your ear...

well... maybe you would like to confirm with Mr Sim on the oil rigs thingy 1st.. i'm sure not all rigs are able to access in board daylight.. Malaysia or otherwise and E11 might just be the one that you can't... however, the usual thing is wooden hull boat should not be a problem (maybe... i dunno sometime can sometime can't) but metal hull i really dun think they'll allow it...or at least a couple of them wouldn't..

ya ya.. barbless hook should be used in such cases..

i could hardly land a GT with hooks let alone without one... but have come across some lure ads that reads "so good that once fish bites they'll never let go" maybe if use those you dun need a hook??? to land fish????

no offences.. sure hope the GTs are awaiting for you guys...

p.s. btw, the price Mr Sim quoted might not be the full package price where you can fish all the way to E11.. and check on the makan stuff also if you're to arrange a trip with him..

Mark... it might be another one of those "rich visitors must ketok" stories lar... honestly I doubt anyone in Malaysia will hire that guy if he tells them "oh this price only brings you to nearby places" or "this price does not include food and drinks" I mean... who he trying to kid

I believe if 12345 is Malaysian he might be getting a MUCH better deal than what we got the last time you checked. Somehow I think there are a lot of boatman/operators out there who thinks every GT angler out there is a sucker/moron :P

If 12345 can get good price then I wish Vincent and him the best of luck. We sincerely look forward to some nice photos and do remember to release whenever possible

Bro ask them save up $ get a good rod settle once and for all lar... not that I dun wanna sell your kaki cheap. Most of my Saurus rods have to take beh-kee from Jepun to Sing-ka-poh one leh... just the shipping charges alone sometimes $200+ liao... very hard to sell cheap

Did you came across the new Shino jig and pop rod kah, jig rod exactly same as Game Type-J, pop rod same Ocea eh, and prices only RM4++ yet very light not like 1st batch. I've try one of the Monster GT PE#5 feel like 18 sui pok-pok chui.

Eh Mark... nothing can be as bad as the Sevenseas N.Mariana/or the Kana-Zi XXH that you were using in Bali :P Aiyah... but beginners who are on tight budget can't really go wrong with the Wrex.
