Re: bottom fishing

Hi there,

Rompin is famous for its Sailfish while Pekan is Famous for its Ebek. But both grounds can hold the same target fish.

The tackle which I would prefer will be PE 1-3 with 300m of 30lb braided line. This should do fine, even for the sailfish.

Jigging and bottomfishing will be the main fishing unless U are going for the sailfish.

Cheers
Jason

Wah Thanks for the info.

How about the catch for 2007 during early May?
Actually heard some say that last year rompin was lousier than pekan.
Any idea if this is true?

Re: bottom fishing

Hi Bro,

Like I say Rompin is Famous for its Sailsfish...
The bottom fishing for Rompin is not as good as Pekan be cos some boatman at Rompin only target Sailfish as their main source of income. Many go to Rompin for Sailfish and they are easy to find compare to bottomfishing.

I would say that both grounds are still fishable at the moment.

With good boatman, U can expect quality service and better catch rate.

Cheers
Jason

Re: bottom fishing

There are only 2 good boatman in Pekan from what I have known.

One is Ricky which U can book through Deepsea.

Another one is I don know the name but his reputation is good but his boat is open deck so U will be tanned through....nice nice. His Temper is famous to all whom have fish with him.

Cheers
Jason
