• Kimberleys 2010 Rain Rain go away.

Unfortunately this year we had a late wet season.
    Which did 2 things .....
    1) We got wet.
    2) Put down the Barra.
Never mind, the country we fish was totally different, saw some great waterfalls, had some great swims and still caught fish.
This year the camp had to be totally rebuilt as a cyclone wiped it out in March.
I was fortunate as I went up in May and camp was back up to a comfort level that was acceptable.
    First group of clients

Rebuilt bit of camp with the rain coming on the horizon.

The camp gets it name from a permanent creek that supplies fresh water 12 months of the year and for this area is rare.
The little creek was awash. But the clients had a good time.

One of the guests looking at the storm ... there's trouble brewing.

Back to fishing. One of the little creeks we fish in is called Dic Doc Creek, this year we had a water fall at the end for a swim. This is a hard creek to find, buried up the back of a tangle of Mangroves.

    Blue Salmon from this Creek.

    Mangrove Jack

    And there's always

Matter of fact we saw some Big Crocs this year. Had to use the oar to give them a friendly whack to get them away from the boat.

Nice Queenfish pulled out of a small creek.

    Best Barra for the trip

One of the spots we have lunch overlooking the boats .

On this day we found some lost art and a Burial site that the traditional owners did not know about .... another adventure.

In the Blue water there was plenty of fish Big jumping Queenfsh

Still sharks were a problem. vaporizing plenty of quality fish.
One of the fish we got back with just a little love bite.

    Small Golden Trevally, great eating.

The trip to me is not only a fishing trip and yes I caught 2 fish this year, the clients let me have a small fish while one was videoing the 2 of them into fish. The tide had pushed a big lot of baitfish into a narrow gorge Gt's, Goldens and Queenfish were having a feast then I made 3.

Fly Rods were used for some fun.

Running home at the end of the day for a cold Beer and a feed.

The above was a small collection of photos taken

    Thanks for reading.
